It is also listed in Hemmings where the seller is looking for $14999.From 3/26/2007:The 6.9 was the fastest production sedan available in the world at the time of its production. The engine produces 405 lb-ft of torque and has a dry-sump oil system which requires 14 quarts of oil. This one is available from an owner/enthusiast in Virginia and is listed here on eBay.This example is in incredible original condition. It is not worth buying an abused example for cheap because maintenance and restoration costs will quickly catch up with you. We love the original blue paint. We are usually partial to European-spec features like flat glass headlights with wipers, hubcaps, and smaller chrome bumpers, but the full USA-spec originality of this car is impressive. We would buy this car for its cleanliness and then swap in the lights and smaller bumpers. Both are easily sourced from dead or dying grey-market 380 or 450 W116 sedans. We often like de-badged Mercedes, but the chrome “6.9″ should absolutely be kept on this car. The selling dealer added their badge on the driver side which this was actually bare from the factory. The V8 engine below is clean and original. Only 80k miles is low for a regular car, but the tuning of this beast may require more constant attention at this age.The leather interior and automatic climate controls would almost never be found on the Euro cars and are a great asset of the USA-market cars. The originality of this car can’t be beat. The clean cars are appreciating, and getting this car for anything under $13k is a steal. The owner had it posted in Hemmings for $15 so it might be a possibility. That is barely the down payment on a new Mercedes flagship sedan.Click here for examples of the Euro-spec look that we love. Also check out the 6.9 used here as a chase vehicle in the move Ronin.Related Stories 8 comments Please observe Bring a Trailer's commenting rules.shamanAugust 25, 2010 at 1:05 pm 0 or Flag as not constructive I’d never sell it, I could live in it if had no place to!Quad headlights are cool, oil change interval for this model is 90.000km, you don’t need no engine tuning neither.shamanAugust 25, 2010 at 1:18 pm 0 or Flag as not constructive
